Pros. Lighter than Canon's EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM; Incorporates optical image stabilisation; Impressive central sharpness at f/1.4; Accepts filters and adapters via common 77mm thread size
Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 or Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM or Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM Does anyone have experience with these lenses? I'd like to pick up a 35mm prime to pair with my R6. I know the RF 35mm seems like the obvious answer, but I've read a lot of mixed reviews online.
John Riley reviews the Canon EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM, a bright prime lens ideal for portraits using Canon full-frame cameras. 35mm equivalent: No Data: Used Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L II USM.
The Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 USM L II performed fairly well in our full format test but it really shines when used on an APS-C format DSLR. This is not surprising because all the slight imperfections in the outer image field reside outside of the APS-C image frame. Resolution-wise it is tack sharp in the image center. It goes large in aperture rating at f/1.4; it boasts top-grade, weather-sealed construction with a fluorine keep-clean coating on the front element; and it features the best glass that Canon can make. vsTYSe7.
